Q: Give a brief overview of your professional journey and your current role. What inspired you to pursue a career in healthcare and leadership?
Dr. Maliha Hashmi: My journey has always been about bridging science, technology, and human well-being. From the very beginning, I was drawn to healthcare innovation and futurism, not just as a field of study but as a means to transform lives globally.
Currently, I serve as the CEO and Managing Partner of My Next Health KSA, leading groundbreaking advancements in precision medicine, AI-driven healthcare, and human performance optimization. I am also a Board Member at GNQ Insilico, pioneering digital twin technology for predictive care, and the Global Ambassador for Insight Health Systems, where I work on expanding healthcare access for underserved populations.
What inspired me? The belief that healthcare should be predictive, personalized, and accessible to all. I have always been fascinated by the interplay of AI, genomics, and neuroscience and how they can be leveraged to build the future of healthcare. More importantly, I saw gaps in the system—healthcare was reactive rather than proactive, fragmented rather than holistic. That’s what drives my work today—merging deep tech with human-centered care to create systems that optimize health, longevity, and human potential.
Q: Can you share some of the key challenges you faced early in your career and how you overcame them?
Dr. Maliha Hashmi: One of the biggest challenges I faced was navigating entrenched silos within the healthcare industry. Many traditional systems resist change, especially when it comes to integrating AI and digital health solutions.
To overcome this, I focused on building strong alliances with top innovators, policymakers, and thought leaders globally. Collaboration is key—you cannot transform an industry alone. By demonstrating the tangible impact of data-driven healthcare solutions, I was able to push boundaries, introduce new models of care, and create pathways for AI-driven precision medicine to become a reality.
Another challenge? Breaking into leadership spaces that were predominantly male-dominated. Healthcare leadership—especially at the intersection of technology, innovation, and AI—requires resilience and unwavering belief in your vision. I refused to let barriers define my trajectory. Instead, I let my work speak for itself, focusing on impact-driven strategies that deliver real, measurable change.
Q: What motivated you to become involved with the World Economic Forum and the G20?
Dr. Maliha Hashmi: Global health challenges require global solutions. My motivation for engaging with the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the G20 stems from my belief that healthcare should not be confined to isolated systems—it must be part of a larger global conversation.
As a WEF Global Future Council Expert and V20 Delegate of the G20, I use these platforms to shape international health policies, advocate for digital health innovation, and drive AI-driven healthcare equity. The WEF and G20 allow me to collaborate with world leaders, governments, and top institutions to influence policies that will define the future of healthcare, human performance, and longevity.
Q: Can you tell us about a project you’re particularly proud of and why it stands out to you?
Dr. Maliha Hashmi: One of my proudest projects is pioneering digital twin technology at GNQ Insilico. This initiative is revolutionizing predictive healthcare by creating AI-powered digital twins that can simulate disease progression and optimize personalized treatment plans.
Imagine a world where doctors can test treatments on your digital twin before applying them to you—that’s what we are creating. It’s not just about better healthcare; it’s about radically transforming the way we prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases.
This project stands out because it combines AI, genomics, neuroscience, and quantum computing to build a new era of patient-centered care—one that is intelligent, autonomous, and hyper-personalized.
Q: How do you balance your professional responsibilities with your personal life?
Dr. Maliha Hashmi: Balance isn’t just about time management—it’s about harmonizing purpose, relationships, and well-being. Just like the arts and sciences must coexist, both personal and professional fulfillment are essential to a meaningful life.
For me, people are my oxygen. Deep, healthy, personal relationships fuel my ambition, creativity, and ability to lead with purpose. I believe that engagement with focused, meaningful relationships and kindness is at the core of human connection. The ability to deeply understand, listen, and uplift others is not only vital in leadership but in life itself.
I love people, and I truly believe that relationships humanize everything we do. Whether in the boardroom, a research lab, or at a healthcare summit, it is the human connection that drives innovation, impact, and purpose.
Q: What is that one quote you absolutely live by or find helpful?
Dr. Maliha Hashmi: “If everything around you seems dark, look again—you may be the light.” – Rumi
This quote resonates deeply with me because I truly believe in the power of giving, uplifting, and being a source of light for others. I find energy and purpose in lifting people up, loving deeply, and simply being there when someone needs support.
We must find ways every day to be someone’s light—whether through kindness, leadership, or innovation. The world is full of challenges, but in every moment, we have the choice to be a light for others, a source of hope, or the spark of a solution.
